Why is everyone still buying clothes in supermarkets? It's madness. They're all made out of polyester, they're homogenous and scream of no imagination whatsoever. Firstly, I wouldn't want to pass someone in the street who was wearing the same George at Asda t-shirt as me. Secondly, they're producing these clothes without a millisecond of thought for the environment. Buy second hand. Buy vintage. Heaven knows there are enough second hand clothes out there for us all to wear for the next 50 years (note: not based on scientific evidence, just from personal experience).

And on the second hand front, why are we as a species scared of wearing something that might have been worn by a dead person? Might we take on their personality if we wear their favourite jumper? Um, I don't think so. And anyway, detergents these days are happily killing plant and animal life in our rivers and oceans so I'm sure that washing something second hand will happily kill any scrap of someone's soul that might be left in the fibres. Also, the number of clothes we buy and never use is a bit scary and I'm constantly listing for sale items that still have the tags attached. So the chances are your second hand item might be new after all.
